1. Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for MBBS admission in India, candidates should have the following: Academic Qualification: Completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with core subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. Minimum Marks: General category: 50% aggregate in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC): 40% aggregate in PCB. Age Limit: Minimum 17 years as of December 31 of the year of admission. There is no maximum age limit according to the recent NMC (National Medical Commission) guidelines.

2. Entrance Exams

Admission to MBBS in India is mainly through national or state-level entrance exams. The most frequent exams are: NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate): Organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Compulsory for admission to all Indian medical colleges (government, private, deemed, and central universities).
